Extensions 15 Day Tour: The Rainforest in Iquitos

Introduction

For those who like more the Amazon adventure and love to swim between the pink and grey dolphins we have made a 7 day extension to Iquitos.

Itinerary

Day 15

Flight to Iquitos and overnight stay.

Day 16

Transport to the port and sail for 3 hours over the Amazon river. Welcome in the Muyuna Lodge.

In the afternoon Piranha fishing and a small trek in the low jungle and look for medicinal plants. In the evening Nocturnal ride to see alligators.

Day 17

Walk into the low jungle to look for animals (monkeys sloth, insects) in its own habitat. Visit the lakes (Sapote, Corrientillo, Tipashiro Bufeo and Huito) where there are many kinds of typical Amazon fishes.

Day 18

Sail by the Amazon river to walk into the high jungle. Afternoon you can enjoy the beaches that are formed in the shores of the river. Later that day a swim with the gray and pink dolphins.

Day 19

A trek in the low jungle at the Tahuayo river a three hour boat trip to go and a three hour boat trip to come back. During the trek you can see monkeys, birds insect and a lot of Amazon flora. You also visit during your trip a little Indian village.

Day 20

Early in the morning you going out for bird watching. You visit the town of San Juan de Yanayacu and after that you get you last possibility to swim with the dolphins in the Amazon river. In the afternoon return to Iquitos and transfer to your hotel.

Day 21

Flight back Lima.

Day 22

Flight back home.
